About the event

King in the Wilderness

Please join us for the launch of the Chocolate Sundays Film & Discussion Series at Inspiration Lab.

This month’s featured film is King in the Wilderness, a powerful documentary that follows Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. during the final years of his life. The film traces Dr. King’s work from the critical passage of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 through the growing resistance he faced as he expanded his vision to include economic justice, opposition to the Vietnam War, and a broader call for moral accountability—leading up to his assassination in 1968.

This screening will be followed by a  community discussion, offering space to reflect on Dr. King’s evolving leadership, the complexity of his legacy, and the continued relevance of his work in our lives and communities today. Participants are invited to listen, share, and engage in thoughtful dialogue across generations.
